The Beginning of SSM Transport
SSM Transport was founded in 1985 by Mr. R. Sankar, along with his brothers, hailing from Ayakudi village, Palani District.
With a background in fabrication and manufacturing, the family identified a growing need for chemical logistics within the industries they were associated with.
The journey began with a single truck, driven by Mr. R. Sankar himself, with his brothers supporting as co-drivers. By the end of 1985, the fleet had grown to three trucks, laying a strong foundation built on safety, reliability, and hands-on operations.
